Signature Series 2027
2027 Theme: Affordability
In 2027, the Alliance for Health Policy will turn to a topic that touches nearly every American: the cost of care.
The 2027 Signature Series picks up where 2026 left off. Last year’s Series examined how health care gets paid for. In 2027, we’re asking the policy question that links to one of the top issues for Americans today: how does health policy impact affordability? And, because the Alliance’s mission is education, what do policymakers need to know about it?
Affordability is already discussed widely in policy circles, but usually from the vantage point of a single stakeholder. The 2027 Signature Series will convene the full spectrum of patients, providers, payers, employers, and federal and state policymakers, so that the resulting education reflects more than one side.
Through the Alliance’s unique Incubate-to-Educate model of expert listening and nonpartisan education, the Series will explore what is most important for policymakers to understand when it comes to how policies can impact the increase or decrease of affordability. Insights from this year-long initiative will equip policymakers with the context and understanding needed to navigate affordability debates and inform future policy decisions.
