Dan Mendelson is Chief Executive Officer of Morgan Health, a business unit at JPMorganChase focused on accelerating the delivery of new care models that improve the quality, equity and affordability of employer-sponsored health care. Since 2021, Morgan Health has supported 8 innovative portfolio companies and initiated a range of pilot programs. Areas of focus include primary care, prevention, care navigation, data analytics, specialty, and at-home care.
Dan was previously Founder and CEO of Avalere Health, which provides advisory services, syndicated research, and data analytics. Dan also served as Operating Partner at Welsh Carson, a private equity firm. Prior to founding Avalere, Dan served as associate director for Health at the Office of Management and Budget in the Clinton White House.
Dan currently serves on the board of Champions Oncology (CSBR) and the advisory board of the Peterson Center on Healthcare. He is also an adjunct professor at the Georgetown University McDonough School of Business. He previously served on the boards of Coventry Healthcare, HMS Holdings, Pharmerica, Partners in Primary Care, Centrexion, Audacious Inquiry, and Vera.
Dan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Oberlin College, and a Master of Public Policy degree from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
