Event Overview

Health Policy Academy is the Alliance for Health Policy’s annual in-person, bootcamp-style event held exclusively for current congressional and federal agency staff. For more than 30 years, the Academy has helped generations of staffers better navigate the fundamentals of health policy and the policymaking process.

This full-day bootcamp is ideal for staff who are new in their career, newer to health policy, or just looking for a refresher. Participants get the chance to learn from veteran health policy experts in a bipartisan, stakeholder-neutral environment that encourages candid questions and real-world learning from senior leaders and experts who have worked in or with federal health policy institutions.

The program features four panel sessions covering core health policy topics, including:

  • Introduction to Congress and the legislative process
  • Navigating the regulatory process and key agencies
  • A high-level overview of health care coverage in the U.S.
  • A deep dive into artificial intelligence in health care

Each session pairs expert perspectives with in-depth Q&A, offering practical insights drawn from their experience working in and with Congress and the executive branch.

Boxed lunches will be provided, and the day concludes with a networking reception featuring hors d’oeuvres and refreshments.

Attendees are encouraged to register even if they cannot attend every session. All sessions will be recorded for registered attendees, except for Q&A portions.
