WASHINGTON, D.C. (May 8, 2019) – Sarah Dash, president and CEO of the Alliance for Health Policy, a leading nonpartisan resource for journalists and policymakers, issued the following statement upon the passing of long-time New York Times reporter Robert Pear:
“The Alliance for Health Policy mourns the loss of the journalist Robert Pear, a juggernaut of the health policy community and steadfast seeker of the truth. Through his 40+ years of reporting on the most pressing health care issues in the nation, Mr. Pear’s clear reporting and tireless pursuit of the whole story made him one of the most respected and authoritative reporters in Washington, D.C. and beyond. The health policy community and all readers of his work will deeply miss his contributions as a quiet but persistent enforcer of clarity and candor in health policy and politics.”
